"Emotional Intelligence" - Quentin O'Mahony, AMT Group, Senior Management
Trainer

The concept of 'emotional intelligence' has caught the business world by
storm since Dr. Daniel Goleman's ground breaking books, Emotional
Intelligence and Working with Emotional Intelligence were released in the
late 1990s. Defined simply as our ability to manage ourselves and our
relationships effectively, this approach to human behavior is now a
growing measure for determining career and life success. Why is it that
companies of all sizes and locations are screening for emotional maturity
when selecting staff for management and overseas assignments? Whether you
wish to work better with those above you or those you are responsible for,
empathy and listening are at the core of EQ and our ability to build
relationships will dictate how successful we are.

Quentin O'Mahony Bio:
Born in the Republic of Ireland and raised across Canada he has always had
a global passion. He began his understanding of Japan while studying at
Takushoku University in Hokkaido in 1997. In 2001, after finishing
graduate studies in Asia Pacific Management in Vancouver, Canada he
arrived in Tokyo as a Management Trainer for Japan based AMT Group.
Quentin is considered by those he meets as a creative, articulate and
highly energetic individual dedicated to bringing out the best results in
his clients. When not working he referees soccer to the semi professional
level and volunteers with a local counseling group.
