Hi,
I have just finished updating JSci and it is now available for download
at
http://jsci.org.uk/. Yep, I have finally registered the domain name.
In this update you will find:
- improved documentation. I have made some improvements to the API
documentation and the developer's guide (most notably the JSci.awt and
JSci.io sections).
- MathML functionality increased. Thanks to the needs of Brad Maxwell, I
have extended the MathMLExpression class so it can now understand almost
all the content tags (incl. some MathML 2.0 tags).
- additions to awt/swing graph classes. Methods for adjusting the
x/y-axis numbering intervals have been added. Thanks goes to John Carr.
- JSci.maths.categories package added. Trying to push back the
boundaries of what kind of maths you can do on a computer. I'm hoping to
eventually apply it to "numerical topological quantum field theory".
- AutoUpdate program. Want to check for a new version of JSci? Just run
"java AutoUpdate" and if there is a new version available it will be
downloaded for you.
- Misc. changes. Added operatorNorm method to the matrix classes.
DoubleVector and ComplexVector now implement VectorSpaceMember (previous
oversight). Trigonometric and other functions added to MathDouble.
For the next update I plan to move over to Java 1.3. If this is going to
cause you problems (e.g. no Java 2 VM available for your platform) then
please let me know.
Regards,
Mark
