I guess JBuilder must come with its own JVM. Are there any settings in
JBuilder to this effect? Just looked at the product web page and yes,
JBuilder does seem to use its own JVM. The lastest version 6 says jdk
1.3/1.4, so I bet version 5 has JDK 1.2. You could try making sure jdk
1.3 is at the very start of PATH, ie before JBuilder, and see what
happens.

I suppose the best thing for you to do is contact Borland with the
problem, or upgrade to v6. If you find a solution/fix please post it
here in case of future reference.
