Hi,

The JSci suite of Java classes looks like something I could find
really useful. However I am still a relative beginner with Java and
am having trouble getting started.

I have Java 1.3 on my machine and thought I followed the installation
instructions correctly. When I try to open some of the HTML files
for the example applets (e.g. those for Chaos) I get a Java error
(java.lang.ClassFormatError: Bad major version number). I have tried
this with Netscape 4 and Explorer 5.

If anyone has any ideas what the problem might be I would appreciate
it.
