Hi,
I have just released a new version of JSci. It has been quite some
time since the last release, although the Sourceforge CVS has been
kept uptodate during that time for those who like to have rapid access
to the latest code.
What's new:
- completed internal improvements to the matrix classes.
- Gram-Schmidt orthogonalisation method added to LinearMath class.
- RingMatrix class added. It is now possible to construct matrices
with arbitrary RingMember entries. For example, a matrix of
quaternions, or polynomials, or even a matrix of matrices.
- JSci.maths.polynomials package added. Thanks to Benedikt Dietrich
for donating his code.
- JSci.astro package added. Provides classes for controlling
computerised telescopes (eg Meade LX200). This is a byproduct of
another project I used to work on (couldn't see it go to waste).
WARNING: these classes have not been fully tested.
- JSci now has its own custom doclet. Links to entries in the
planetmath.org encyclopaedia can be added to the API docs. Useful for
a quick reference to the maths behind some of the classes/methods.
Regards,
Mark
