If you're interested in how I use JUnitPerf for performance testing EJBs, the
"Bitter Tunes" chapter of our upcoming book "Bitter EJB" is up for review on
TheServerSide:

In this chapter I go through an example of how to use JUnitPerf to avoid
antipatterns that plague the EJB performance-tuning process. Admittedly, this
chapter was borne out of my own worst performance fears coming true over the
years. I've rolled the dice with premature optimizations. The house won. I've
cast scalability to the wind hoping that by some miracle the whiz-bang
technology would scale. It didn't. I've thrash-tuned until there were no more
levers to pull, then I did it again. Alas, I never caught my tail. And yes,
despite my crusade for automation, I've spent way too much time manually running
performance tests. I often think of what I could have done with that time.
Perhaps this chapter will spare some folks from those battle scars.
You can download these chapters at no cost, though it does require that you
create an account on TSS. In return, we would very much appreciate your
feedback. By all means, please make any corrections, propose enhancements, or
tell us about EJB antipatterns that we may have missed.
Thanks in advance, and enjoy!
Mike
