Re: [k-3] New member and potential K3 owner

Hello Chris,

I love my K3 although I've been shooting HD these days. I modified mine to super16 with outstanding results and have used a host of inexpensive M42 mount lenses that have been fantastic. Here are some links to films I made entirely with my K3. Definitely get one and best of luck to you!

You may view a film I made (pre super 16 mod) here:

you may view a trailer for the film i shot in super16 here:

Hi all,

I'm not sure how quick a reply I'll get as, sadly, it seems this site
isn't very active - and hasn't been for over a year, but I'll post
anyway. Who knows - maybe it'll coax some much-needed and overdue
activity from members!!!

Basically, I have shot Super 8 and video (in its many formats) for
almost 30 years, although for the past 15 or so I've shot
predominantly on video. However, video has never had the charm
and "magic" that film always had for me, and recently I dusted off my
old Bauer C700 super 8 camera (found right at the back of a drawer),
put a fresh set of batteries in it and set it running. I was amazed
to hear it purr into life, seemingly as good as the day I bought it.
So I bought a roll of Super 8 film to test it...

Anyway, I digress somehwat, but basically my renewed interest in the
joy of FILM encouraged me to do some research online and to check out
Ebay for various film equipment... Then I came across the Krasnogorsk
3 and was astonished to see some of the low prices for both used and
NEW kits on sale there. Well, I haven't yet decided whether to go
16mm (K3), but I'm getting increasingly tempted (despite the emormous
film and processing costs). So, if anyone else has had any experience
dealing with MoscosPhoto on Ebay who seem to have many satisfied
customers, I'd be grateful to hear from them. In addition, if anyone
wants to encourage (or even DIScourage) me to go get a K3, their
contributions would be much appreciated too. (I've been reading
through some old posts and hoped to view the K3 movie samples linked
in some, but alas due to them being several years old the links were
now dead. However, I have checked out the clips in FILES and thought
them quite impressive, although short! If anyone can direct me to
anymore film clips shot with the K3, please do post the links.)

And maybe we can kick-start this forum into some new life again???...

Glad to be onboard!

Chris
