KAT5 is a project dedicated to the distribution of Audio, Video and InfraRed signals around the home over low cost Category 5 cable as part of your Home Automation system. It is a range of units that enable you to create your own AV Distribution system with the features you want.

When designing the system I tried to incorporate as many of the features built into "High End" systems as possible with one noteable exception..... the high price! Because of the highly customiseable nature of KAT5 and the diverse nature of the equipment that can be connected to KAT5, this forum has been set up for users to exchange ideas and seek help for any problems they encounter.
