Foreign researchers (with a background in natural as well as social
sciences) presently in Japan, who have been in Japan or are planning to
come, or who have otherwise contact with Japan are invited to join this
list.

Also, governmental and non-governmental science organizations in Japan
and around the world are encouraged to post information about
bilateral research and/or exchange programs, scholarships, research
programs in general, and other relevant information for international
researchers in Japan.

The preferred language is English. When posting in Japanese, it should
be keep in mind that list members might not be able to display Japanese
characters correctly on their computer screens. Thus postings in
Japanese should have a short preface in English.

Besides the dissemination of information relevant to research (including
conference announcements, feedback about research programs, etc), this
forum offers a platform for general information exchange among
international reserachers concerning daily life in Japan, career opportunities, etc.
