Dear all,

There are two reports of captive Barn Owls being rescued by concerned
citizens and forest officials as reported by Mathrubhoomi-both in Aluva
and nearby Chunangamvely.Apparently the recent reports on bird
trafficking helped raise awareness.

Also this may be counterproductive as the reports state that Barn Owls
are worth Rs.35 lakhs in foreign countries...This may prompt greedy
people to try and catch them.Since their photos are published it is easy
to identify them also!
