The structure server is not available anymore... you can just skip this
step. There are no database structure changes from 0.71.02 to K2.

Hello,

Upgrading from keystone 0.71.02 to Keystone2 0.71.02, the conversion
script schecker.php3 point to a broken URL inside stonekeep web site:
<http://www.stonekeep.com/structserver.php3>
as its third step...

and it doesn't exist any more! (Thanks 404 Not Found)

Where is this structserver.php3 gone ?

How should I manage to upgrade without schecker.php3 not working and
structserver.php3 gone ?

Regards,

There should be no conversion necessary. The code will run under this
environment without modification. The only thing is that more recent
versioins of PHP default to register_globals being turned off. Turn
that on (via the php.ini file, see the list archives for details), and
make sure your Apache is set up to handle .php3 files as .php files, and
you should be good.

If things are not working, please post etails about what's not working.

Greeting keystone-users,

Sorry if this is posted twice, but I do not think
it went through the first time.

  Can you offer a suggestion?

I have inherited a PTS 1.72.00 system used to track computer support.
It has never given us a problem and we are happy with the features,
but it runs on and out-of-date system. I am trying to port it to
an up-to-date system without success. Can you help?

The current PTS system runs on an old Linux box with:
  PHP/FI 2.0.1
  Apache 1.2.6
  MySQL Ver 9.15 Distrib 3.21.30, for pc-linux-gnu (i686)

I want to port to a current Linux system with:
  PHP 4.3.2
  Apache 2.0.46
  MySQL 3.23.59

  www.php.net has a "convertor" to convert PHP/FI to PHP3.
The converted .phtml scripts will not run under PHP 4.3.2
and I am not a PHP programmer who can fix them.

Alternatively I hoped it might be easily ported to the
current version of Keystone, but do not see to do this
  either.

  Thank you,
  hickdoward

Hi,

I've been using an older version (0.74) and this weekend thought I'd try the
new version (Keystone2 0.90.09). I've been unable to get the slips to get
colored according to priority. I've set the option in the slips properties,
and made sure I've copied the colors.conf.default, but I'm still unable to
get it working - I managed to on the older version ..

Is there a way around this?

Thanks,

Matt

Yes the subdirectory called'conf' is there and has the
keystone.conf.default file in it.
the files have the permissions.
This is driving me nuts - I am about ready to give up on it.

Okay, that shows that the first problem is solved, in that the PHP
parser is now working correctly. I've never seen this particular error
- why are you using an IP address as your target, btw? That can
introduce some oddities.

Look wherever that 'index.php' file is. Is there a subdirectory called
'conf' and does it have the keystone.conf.default file in it?

This is an odd series of errors. Also check the permissions on the
files. Look in your HTTP error log for any messages there like "Cannot
open file - permission denied'.

This is a known bug, sorry - the function isn't enabled yet.

My workspace version has this about half coded, I'll try and get it
completed shortly. The old function (pre-upgrade) was... well, an ugly
hack :) I'll get this re-enabled.

I am using keystone2-0_90_09. I am upgrading from using 0.74.00.

The contact view (viewing a particular contact) has a "add slip"
link, however, this does not actually do anything.

Also, the previous version I used (.74) had a list of slips
associated with a contact on the same screen as the contact (under
the phone #/address stuff). Is there any way to turn that back on?

It looks like I found two php.ini files.

When I checked the /etc/php.ini file, short_open_tag = Off, I updated
to On

When I checked /usr/local/lib/php.ini file, short_open_tag = On

I tried keystone and got the follow: ->http://158.114.148.90/index.php

Warning: Failed opening './conf/keystone.conf.default' for inclusion
(include_path='.:/usr/share/pear') in /var/www/html/index.php on line
13

Warning: Failed opening './header.php' for inclusion
(include_path='.:/usr/share/pear') in /var/www/html/index.php on line
19

Warning: Failed opening './utils.php' for inclusion
(include_path='.:/usr/share/pear') in /var/www/html/index.php on line
21

Warning: Failed opening './db.php' for inclusion
(include_path='.:/usr/share/pear') in /var/www/html/index.php on line
22

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: db_connect()
in /var/www/html/index.php on line 23

I then tried the foo.php and got same as before:

foo barfoo

Looks like it's complaining about the index.php file???

No, what it says is that PHP is configured to only allow <?php tags.
Keystone uses <? ?> type tags, so nothing will work properly until you
change the setting in the php.ini file.

Locate that file on your system, and look for the entry:

short_open_tag = On

(Yours probably says 'Off')

Change that to On, and restart apache, then try Keystone and/or the
script above. You should get the same line twice.

So this tells us that PHP is working right??

This is really behaving like the PHP parser is not working properly, or
its ignoring the <? tag. Here's a couple things to try...

1) make a file 'foo.php' and put:
	 foo
	 <? echo "bar" ?>
	 foo

This should output on the browser 'foo bar foo'.

2) Second, try editing that line to have <?php ?> instead of the <? ?>
brackets around the 'echo' line.

Reply to the list please...

Dave -
I looked around and read some faq and still stuck on this keystone
index.php file... could this problem be a keystone problem itself?

Need some more information. What's not working correctly? Ie, if you
can't log in, what's the error message if any?

I am running php 4.3.7 configured with mysql support. If I run a test
php file (phpinfo) it shows it is configured with mysql support. Is
there something else I could be missing? Thanks, Jake

I did check with the test.php file and alot of information came back
about the php configuration. I also checked and tested php before
installing keystone - php is running on this redhat box.

This is caused (in my experience) by having slip ACLs turned on in the
keystone config. As a workaround, try turning them off. If this is
indeed the problem, I'll commit a fix tonight.

This is odd.

Can you make sure debugging is turned on (see keystone.conf), and
attempt tihs again, then look for an 'error' line in the keystone log
file (/tmp/keystone.log) - it should hdave the exact SQL command that is
failing.

Thanks!

There's a chance you don't have PHP or the PHP handler working. Try
this..

In your keystone directory, create a file called 'test.php'

Within this file place
<? phpinfo() ?>

Then hit that file with your webrowser
(www.whatever.com/keystone/test.php )

If you get a PHP test screen with a lot of information, then we're
working. If you get a blank screen, you have no PHP support in your web
server, you'll need to enable it.

In the future, when responding to support questions or information on
the keystone-users list, please Cc the list on replies (or reply to the
list directly). There are many other folks on the list who understand
PHP and Keystone, they can help as well.

I am restating the probolem for clarity.
I am running the latest version of Keystone2, on a Linux platform
with MySQL. I upgraded from keystone 0.72.

Anonymous users can add slips just fine
from the main page. If I login and click on the Add Slip link (Long
form or short form) I get the following error when I try to add the
slip:

MySQL Error # 1064 in function db_query
You have an Error in your SQL syntax near ",",0,)' at line 1.

I can modify a slip, add follow-ups to the slips. Add and modify
contacts, run the Update function from the Maintenance page but if I
am logged in and try to add a slip I getthe above error. I tried
looking through nbrowse.php but get lost in the code to find the
exact SQL line that adds a slip. It seems that I am missing a field
somewhere that is in keystone2 and not keystone. To the best of my
searching my database tables match the *.mysql scripts. I have
looked at the change list but am still in the dark.
Any help or pointers would be appreciated.

This sounds like a problem wiuth quoting somewhere. THat particular line
looks like this:

index.php: <img src="<? echo $sys_graphics . "/keystone2-2.gif"?>"
alt="Keystone 2" />

which should resolve fine, assuming sys_graphics worked. Is anything
working, or did you change anything from a working installation?

This is a MySQL permissions error, it means that 'root' does not have
permission to modify / update the 'keystone' database within your
server. You need to read up on grants for the mysql server to allow
root (and, incidentally, whatever username you set up Keystone to use)
to have access to the database and the tables within it.

There's some good docs on the MySQL website (www.mysql.com) on how to
use the GRANT command to grant access.

Good luck!

I am going through the steps in the INSTALL file to install Keystone,
when I run this command in step #5:

[root@seahawk struct]# pwd
/var/www/html/keystone2/struct
[root@seahawk struct]# for i in *.mysql ; do mysql keystone < $i; done

I get the following errors:

ERROR 1045: Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password:
NO)
ERROR 1045: Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password:
NO)
ERROR 1045: Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password:
NO)
ERROR 1045: Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password:
NO)
.......

How can I get the same task done but under SQL? Is there such a way
to get the same task with SQL?

Thank you for any help.
