Hello all,

I regret to announce that my publisher is about to go under. Well, they
might try to limp along for awhile, but it's a big ugly mess and let's just
say that I have reason to believe, whether it goes under or not, they'll
stop printing/selling my book as of March 31.

So this edition of SORROWS OF ADORATION is about to become very
limited. Not that I am promising that that will give it any kind of extra
value, unless I become a massively famous writer one day. I can
dream! It's just that if you have been meaning to order a copy and
haven't, now is the time to decide.

Amazon orders have not been being filled with any regularity, and that's
not Amazon's fault. Amazon passes its order on to the publisher, but the
publisher has been pathetically bad about filling those orders, and even
lying to me at times to say that there haven't been any when I know there
have been. So if you have an existing Amazon order, I'd suggest you cancel
it. It's possible she'll send Amazon some books, but I highly doubt it.

If you've ordered directly from the publisher and your order has not been
fulfilled in a reasonable amount of time, let me know and I'll kick up a
fuss with them. If your order continues to go unfulfilled, I strongly urge
you to call your credit card company and refuse the charges. This
publisher has, of late, been charging people for books that may not even
ever be printed, according to what other authors have told me.

That being said, it looks like if you want a copy of this edition, you have
two choices: order from the publisher and hope she makes good on orders
(she has said all orders placed by March 31 will be fulfilled, but caveat
emptor because she doesn't always come through on promises), or see if I
can get you a copy. I will try to buy up as much stock as I reasonably can
from her, but I have no clue if she has three in stock or 50. If you want
a copy from me (which will be signed), email me and let me know by Friday,
March 5, because it's around then I'm going to want to place an order. I'm
going to assemble a first-come, first-served list of people. I will then
try to order however many I can, and if I can get enough to cover the list,
great. If not, the people who asked first will get whatever I can
get. Please do not request a copy unless you are serious...you are making
a word-of-honour commitment to buying it if you tell me you want me to
order one for you.

The price is still US$16.95. Shipping is cheaper than I originally
thought...it's costing $1.84 within the US, and about $4.50 to Canada. If
shipping costs are a concern, ask me and I'll look up how much it's likely
to cost using the calculator on usps.com. Or you can look yourselves if
you like. Anyway, remember also that I cannot accept credit card
payments. I can accept paypal payments, but ONLY as a direct funds
transfer, for which you need a US-dollar account linked to paypal. I can
also accept US-dollar cheques and moneyorders. No non-US monies, please.

I will be trying to seek a reprint, but it could take me at least 6 months
to a year to find someone to do it, and then it'll probably be at least
another year before they work it into their production schedule. I might
get lucky and get it back out faster, but the realistic outlook would be
about two years off.

So if you want one, better speak up now!

Thanks, and apologies if you don't care or have already told me you're not
interested...I tried to remove uninterested people from the list but I may
have made errors. Feel free to pass this on to anyone you might think is
interested.

PS The ebook is probably still a safe and cheap option since they don't
have to send it to you. If you don't want to buy the ebook from the
publisher directly, it's also available at Fictionwise.com and a few other
ebook sellers. I haven't updated my website with those links, because I
was waiting to find out what's up with the company (I'll update it
tomorrow). I'll probably never see a dime of royalties from the publisher,
though, so don't go out and buy the ebook just to support me. Just do it
if you want to read the book...that's what I've always been concerned
about, that people will read it and like it. Getting paid would be nice,
but it's not my main motivation. Luckily. :P
