Hello all,

I've posted two more fabulous reviews of my novel, Sorrows of Adoration, on
the book's page here: http://kimberlychapman.com/writing/soa.html

I've also updated the dream movie cast page using a suggestion for Aenna
and a better picture link for Orlando Bloom. That page is here (contains
spoilers!): http://kimberlychapman.com/writing/soamovie.html

Plus I've been finding out lately that my publisher is messing up a lot of
book orders. If you've ordered from the publisher or Amazon.com and
haven't received it, let me know about it and I'll fight to get your order
fulfilled! I also have a few copies that can be ordered directly from
me. Email me to find out about pricing and payment details as well as
current availability. All copies sent out by me are signed and include a
free promotional bookmark (while supplies last). BE SURE ALL EMAILS
PERTAINING TO THE BOOK HAVE "SORROWS OF ADORATION" IN THE TITLE! I may
miss the emails if you don't do this!

Also, please remember to vote in the poll I have pertaining to my
website. I need to know what you all come for if you want me to better
target your interests on the site! Only ten people out of about 150 have
voted so far. Please vote soon, as I plan to close the poll in early
February! The poll can be found here:

Hello all,

I regret to announce that my publisher is about to go under. Well, they
might try to limp along for awhile, but it's a big ugly mess and let's just
say that I have reason to believe, whether it goes under or not, they'll
stop printing/selling my book as of March 31.

So this edition of SORROWS OF ADORATION is about to become very
limited. Not that I am promising that that will give it any kind of extra
value, unless I become a massively famous writer one day. I can
dream! It's just that if you have been meaning to order a copy and
haven't, now is the time to decide.

Amazon orders have not been being filled with any regularity, and that's
not Amazon's fault. Amazon passes its order on to the publisher, but the
publisher has been pathetically bad about filling those orders, and even
lying to me at times to say that there haven't been any when I know there
have been. So if you have an existing Amazon order, I'd suggest you cancel
it. It's possible she'll send Amazon some books, but I highly doubt it.

If you've ordered directly from the publisher and your order has not been
fulfilled in a reasonable amount of time, let me know and I'll kick up a
fuss with them. If your order continues to go unfulfilled, I strongly urge
you to call your credit card company and refuse the charges. This
publisher has, of late, been charging people for books that may not even
ever be printed, according to what other authors have told me.

That being said, it looks like if you want a copy of this edition, you have
two choices: order from the publisher and hope she makes good on orders
(she has said all orders placed by March 31 will be fulfilled, but caveat
emptor because she doesn't always come through on promises), or see if I
can get you a copy. I will try to buy up as much stock as I reasonably can
from her, but I have no clue if she has three in stock or 50. If you want
a copy from me (which will be signed), email me and let me know by Friday,
March 5, because it's around then I'm going to want to place an order. I'm
going to assemble a first-come, first-served list of people. I will then
try to order however many I can, and if I can get enough to cover the list,
great. If not, the people who asked first will get whatever I can
get. Please do not request a copy unless you are serious...you are making
a word-of-honour commitment to buying it if you tell me you want me to
order one for you.

The price is still US$16.95. Shipping is cheaper than I originally
thought...it's costing $1.84 within the US, and about $4.50 to Canada. If
shipping costs are a concern, ask me and I'll look up how much it's likely
to cost using the calculator on usps.com. Or you can look yourselves if
you like. Anyway, remember also that I cannot accept credit card
payments. I can accept paypal payments, but ONLY as a direct funds
transfer, for which you need a US-dollar account linked to paypal. I can
also accept US-dollar cheques and moneyorders. No non-US monies, please.

I will be trying to seek a reprint, but it could take me at least 6 months
to a year to find someone to do it, and then it'll probably be at least
another year before they work it into their production schedule. I might
get lucky and get it back out faster, but the realistic outlook would be
about two years off.

So if you want one, better speak up now!

Thanks, and apologies if you don't care or have already told me you're not
interested...I tried to remove uninterested people from the list but I may
have made errors. Feel free to pass this on to anyone you might think is
interested.

PS The ebook is probably still a safe and cheap option since they don't
have to send it to you. If you don't want to buy the ebook from the
publisher directly, it's also available at Fictionwise.com and a few other
ebook sellers. I haven't updated my website with those links, because I
was waiting to find out what's up with the company (I'll update it
tomorrow). I'll probably never see a dime of royalties from the publisher,
though, so don't go out and buy the ebook just to support me. Just do it
if you want to read the book...that's what I've always been concerned
about, that people will read it and like it. Getting paid would be nice,
but it's not my main motivation. Luckily. :P

Apologies for sending out another email on this. I won't send any more to
individuals unless you tell me you're interested in the book. Sign up for
my website updates mailing list to continue to be informed
(http://groups.yahoo.com/group/kimberlychapman/).

I've just updated my website (http://kimberlychapman.com/writing/soa.html)
to include a note about the possible limited availability of the book. The
latest news is that maybe the publisher isn't going out of business, but
maybe they are, and either way, I have a feeling I might get forced out for
being difficult (i.e. demanding my contractual rights). So my previous
suggestions of how to get a copy still stand, but I don't want anyone
thinking I made up the whole going-out-of-business thing to drum up sales.

I've also added two more reviews to the website
(http://kimberlychapman.com/writing/soa.html#reviews). The great reviews
make me feel a bit better about the whole thing, but it's bittersweet if
nobody can get the darned thing!

Hello all,

I've updated my Sorrows of Adoration page with a great new review and
removed the warning about ordering problems. Those problems might or might
not still exist, but the publisher was very angry that I dared to warn
consumers about true problems, so as a placation to keep my book in print,
I've removed the warning.

The book wasn't available on the publisher's site for awhile there during
the argument, but appears to be back now. I don't know what that means in
terms of availability. The Amazon listing says ships in 4-6 weeks, which I
assume means Amazon is still not being kept in stock.

If availability improves, I'll note it on the page.

The other big announcement is that I've put One-Click Charity Check on
hiatus, possibly permanently. Between my insane writing schedule lately
(I've written 350,000 words in two months) and various health issues,
Charity Check has unfortunately fallen by the wayside. I've marked each
page as being for archival information only. If life calms down in the
future, I might resume the project, but I make no promises. In the
meantime, I hope one-click users will continue to demand high standards
from sites where they spend their time, and I wish site operators the best
of luck in this increasingly challenging area. If it gets re-opened, it
will be announced on this list.

In terms of craft stuff, I have a pile of cake pictures waiting to be
scanned. Once I get the current book at a point where test readers can
have a look at it, I'll do some cake updates. Eventually, I'll also put up
some more information on the new book(s) as well. Stay tuned!

Thanks!

Hello all,

I've been a good little scanner girl all day and finally put up some more
stuff on the website. :)

In the crafts section, there's a pile of new stuff on the polymer clay page
here: http://kimberlychapman.com/crafts/polymerclay.html . I'll be doing
some book reviews on the books mentioned there soon.

I've scanned one new beaded thing but didn't get around to updating the
bead page yet, so that's coming soon. Also, I've scanned some cake
pictures and have more being processed at the store right now, so I'll be
updating the cake gallery in the next week, barring major interference.

I've gone through the Domestic Abuse links to ensure they're working, and
updated a couple of them as well as adding a few new ones. In particular,
a Maine-based hotline for abused men is now accepting toll-free calls from
anywhere in the US. See
http://kimberlychapman.com/abuse/us_abuse.html#male . Remember: abuse can
happen to a person regardless of their plumbing.

And a few months ago it actually snowed in Las Vegas. It was pretty
pathetic, but this poor Canuck misses snow so much that I had to take a
bunch of pictures. Kind of creepy the way it looks on the palm trees and
roses. Check out the photos here: http://kimberlychapman.com/lvsnow.html

More updates coming in the next few days, including info on my latest novel
(not yet published), my interview in an online magazine, and a new page on
my ceramics work.

Thanks for your interest!

Been a busy girl as promised. Here's what's new:

BEADS:

One addition to the general bead gallery:
http://kimberlychapman.com/crafts/beadgallery.html

Two additions to the beaded plant/flower gallery:
http://kimberlychapman.com/crafts/bfgallery.html

I also rechecked the bead links but not much changed (one new, a few dead
ones deleted): http://kimberlychapman.com/crafts/beadlinks.html

A bunch of the bead books I've reviewed don't seem to have valid links any
more, so some of them are just plain reviews with no recommendation as to
where to get them. If you know of a supplier, please send me the
link. The bead book reviews are here:
http://kimberlychapman.com/crafts/beadbooks.html

CAKES:

Four additions to the cake gallery:
http://kimberlychapman.com/crafts/cakes/cakegallery.html

New link at the bottom of the Orc Head tutorial to another person's
tutorial on making a head-shaped cake:
http://kimberlychapman.com/crafts/cakes/orchead/orchead.html

I also updated the cakes link page, adding and removing as necessary:
http://kimberlychapman.com/crafts/cakes/cakelinks.html

Didn't do anything to the cake books. I know Amazon no longer carries some
of the ones I have listed. If you see a broken link to Amazon and know of
someone else who carries that book, feel free to let me know. I'll do an
update someday. :)

CERAMICS:

Entirely new gallery page here: http://kimberlychapman.com/crafts/ceramics.html

HALLOWE'EN PUMPKINS

Entirely new gallery page here: http://kimberlychapman.com/crafts/pumpkins.html

And as a side bit, I've added one more picture to the snow in Vegas thing
here: http://kimberlychapman.com/lvsnow.html . The roll of film I got back
had a shot of the snowman melting. Very, very sad. :)

Coming in the next day or so: link to an interview about my novel and a
brand new set of pages pertaining to the novel I've just finished writing.

Coming when I get my butt in gear, hopefully very soon: polymer clay book
reviews.

Thanks for your continued interest!

The following updates regarding my books have been posted:

1) The main Writing page now includes links to general articles,
interviews, etc. pertaining to my writing. It's the second section here:
http://kimberlychapman.com/writing/writing.html

2) There have been more problems getting the paperback of Sorrows of
Adoration, and the publisher has increased the price. I've posted a link
to a Salon article describing why book prices are high (and how authors
have no control over that) and a brief note on my paperback's availability
here: http://kimberlychapman.com/writing/soa.html#buy

3) I've posted preliminary information on my new series of novels, The
Colonial Chronicles, the first of which will be sent to a publisher by the
end of this summer. The page is here:
http://kimberlychapman.com/writing/colony.html I'm definitely interested
to know what potential readers think, based on the information
provided. Email me with feedback!

I've just done a sweeping update of all of my Corky and the Juice Pigs fan
pages, cutting out dead links and putting in fresh ones. I've updated the
latest I know about the band members as well.

Also, I've recently had the good fortune to see their debut movie, A Little
Off The Top. I've created a page about the movie here:
http://kimberlychapman.com/corky/corkmovie.html . This movie will be shown
for a limited screening in Montreal during the Just For Laughs Comedy
Festival from July 16-23, 2004. As soon as I have more specific details on
where the theatre is, I'll post them to the movie page.

If you have friends in the Montreal area that you think would dig Corky's
silly antics, tell them to go see the movie. This film is quite rare and
hard to find. It is NOT available for sale on DVD or VHS and probably
never will be (although if it is, I'll post about it!). This may be the
only chance for most people to see it any time soon!

Hello all,

I've received a lot of questions about wire, and some recent ones prompted
me to create a page all about wire and how to use it for flower beading in
particular. So if you want to know my advice on what wire works best for
what purpose and where to buy it, check out the new page:

http://kimberlychapman.com/crafts/beadwire.html

If it doesn't make sense or anyone out there has more questions, please let
me know.

By the way, remember if you email me to use a specific subject line,
especially if you are using Yahoo, Hotmail, or AOL for your email. I get
300-500 spam a day, about half of which comes from those three domains and
it usually has subject lines like "hi" or other meaningless stuff. My spam
filter usually eats those messages. To be sure I get your message, use a
clear subject line, especially using words like "bead" or "cake" or "craft"
because my spam filter should know to catch those emails as
legitimate. Once I receive a mail from anyone who obviously isn't a
spammer, I add them to my friends list so they never have to worry about
this again.

Thanks!

Hello all,

Just a quick note to announce that I've made a few changes to the Colonial

PS it looks like my husband will be getting me a digital camera for my

faster. I just finished another roll of film with some craft stuff, so as
soon as I get that developed there'll be more craft photos to post. Won't
it be nice when I won't have to wait? Yay! :)

especially if I get sentenced to bedrest (which might happen since we're
potentially having twins or triplets, will find out for sure soon).

It also means my crafting is going to be limited for awhile, although I'm
suddenly into knitting baby items. So if any of you out there know of
great sites that share free baby knitting patterns, let me know at
kimberly@.... I'm particularly interested in beginner
patterns as I'm not a very experienced knitter.

If I find enough good sites, I'll make a page of links in my crafting
section. And if I make anything interesting enough to post, I'll create a
gallery page too.

Anyway, the recent updates:

1) My novel, Sorrows of Adoration, is no longer in print (long, ugly
story). I've updated the main page, the writing page, and the book's page
to reflect this change.

The book page is here:
http://kimberlychapman.com/writing/soa.html

If I find a new publisher, I'll definitely update.

2) I have made several updates in the last couple of months to my Anthony
LaPaglia fan pages, but haven't posted each one to this list because I know
most of you are interested in craft stuff, not my actor fandom. Those who
are interested in the day-to-day LaPaglia stuff I find should join this
group here: http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/lapagliarespect/

But my fan page is here:
http://kimberlychapman.com/lapaglia/index.html

And I now run the following three fanlistings as well:
http://kimberlychapman.com/lapaglia/fanlisting/index.html - Anthony LaPaglia
http://kimberlychapman.com/carides/ Gia Carides
http://kimberlychapman.com/lapaglia/fanlisting/jackindex.html - Jack Malone

3) I've taken a ton of great pics with the digital camera, and will
eventually put them up on the site. However, I'm running out of room, so
I'll be changing my web package someday soon, as soon as I get a chance.

I will do it overnight, but it will likely be down for several hours while
I make the change, and in the time it takes me to re-upload everything to
the new site.

None of my URLs will change. Just some files might not be there for a few
hours. Please don't delete links or stop visiting; the site is NOT going
down permanently, I promise.

When the change has been made and when those nifty photos are up, I'll post
to let folks know.

Fixed some broken links and added a couple of new ones to the How to Write
an Essay tutorial pages.

More importantly, I've taken down any offer I used to give pertaining to
helping people with their essays. I get too many rude/demanding/ridiculous
requests. Some people can't even be bothered to use actual words when
asking for help. They say things like, "wil u help m3 wif my esay?" I'm
tolerant of people who don't have English as a first language, but when
people write to me like that, I don't have a lot of faith in their
dedication to essay writing.

Plus I just won't have time with the whole pregnancy thing. Most requests
come at the last minute at the end of semester, so I'm heading it off now.

Apologies if this inconveniences anyone on this list.

Do you hate the new look on Yahoo groups? I do. I particularly hate that
the My Groups page only lists five. Don't know about anyone else, but the
tool to reorder them isn't working properly for me.

Since I know a lot of folks have complained, I thought I'd forward this
petition to the three groups I moderate:

http://www.petitiononline.com/kham2087/petition.html

Feel free to pass it around. I just signed it myself and there are over
22,000 signatures already. I also filled in the comment form on Yahoo to
let them know that I was making my own HTML page to bypass the My Groups
page and list all of my groups.

I am in the process of moving my website to a new host with much more
space. This way I can finally put up lots more goodies, including a whole
new knitting section, more bead book reviews, more ceramics, and other
stuff too.

I've just started the process today. Over the next week or so, the site
may be briefly down as my old host gives way to the new one. Please don't
delete bookmarks or think that the site is gone. It's not going anywhere
and none of your bookmarks will be broken, even to specific pages.

Everything should be back to normal within a couple of weeks and you can
all look forward to more goodies coming really soon.

Thanks!

Hello all, as part of transferring my site to a better host, I have now put
all of the site's files on a mirror at that host. Then I have to wrestle
with annoying stuff with Yahoo and the registrar to get it switched over.

Hopefully that'll all happen without any downtime, but just in case
kimberlychapman.com does appear to be unavailable any time soon, you can
find the same stuff at http://kacee.dreamhosters.com .

It's only a TEMPORARY mirror, though, so don't change your
bookmarks/links. It's just backup until the switch is final.

If there is downtime, though, any email address ending in
kimberlychapman.com will also temporarily fail to work. If you get a
bounce, try again the next day.

While I wait for the powers that be to sort themselves out, I have been
working to clean up link lists a bit, plus I added a new beading book
review today, for The Complete Idiot's Guide to Beading. It can be found
on the Beading Books page here:
http://kimberlychapman.com/crafts/beadbooks.html

Or as backup: http://kacee.dreamhosters.com/crafts/beadbooks.html

Hello all, I've just posted tons of new stuff at kimberlychapman.com:

http://kimberlychapman.com/crafts/knit-gallery.html - A gallery of the
stuff I've been knitting lately, including lots of details on how I made
stuff. No patterns per se because knitting patterns are full of scary
abbreviations that make my eyes cross, but anyone who can knit should be
able to follow the directions.

http://kimberlychapman.com/crafts/knit-dpn.html - A tutorial on how to use
double-pointed knitting needles, complete with plenty of step-by-step photos.

http://kimberlychapman.com/crafts/knit-dpntwist.html - A tutorial on how to
further use double-pointed needles to create a self-twisting tube, again
with lots of photos.

Enjoy!

These pages are also up at the Dreamhost mirror, but Yahoo tech support is
based in Houston and has been out of the office for the hurricane, so I
haven't been able to get them to switch my domain over yet. However, the
Yahoo account is full, so the pages above actually pull graphics from
Dreamhost, so if the graphics seem slow to load, don't worry, it's
temporary. As before, you should only bookmark the kimberlychapman.com
pages, not the kacee.dreamhosters.com pages.

My website is now at a new host, and email should all be working fine. If
you tried to email me in the last two weeks and got a bounce, or if you
found the site to be Not Found, it should all be working now so try again.

But as for email, I've just had my baby so I'm way behind on
communications. I'll try to keep up with simple craft help requests, but I
won't be giving my usual in-depth personalized attention for awhile,
sorry. I just don't have time! So if you email me with a craft question,
please keep it simple and be patient in waiting for a reply.

Hopefully I'll get back into updates and email more regularly once the baby
is on a better sleeping schedule. :)
