Dear K-Loggers (particularly Phil),
You can publish your RSS feeds using Radio right now. See:
http://radio.userland.com/multiAuthorWeblogTool
With this tool I can publish a selection of my feeds to a category specific
K-Log. Readers can either read it as a weblog, or subscribe to it via RSS (a
newsfeed of selected newsfeeds).
I could publish dozens of these aggregrated feeds if I wanted to. It's pretty
funny that a $40 software program provides an individual with about as much
power to syndicated aggregated content as Moreover or Vignette's extremely
expensive content syndication server.
It is also possible to build and publish directories using Radio's outliner.
See the instructions on how to do this here:
http://radio.outliners.com/directoryOutliner
Radio directories can be linked together (this is called inclusion). So a
directory I own and create could be linked to the directories of co-workers
across the enterprise (and between companies). A corporate root directory,
published to the Intranet, would serve as a starting point for finding the
marketing directory, the engineering directory, the sales directory, etc. These
directories could include bookmarks, documents, and much more.
The combination of personal publishing, news aggregation, and these new tools
enable individuals to jointly build a corporate portal that is head and
shoulders above anything else on the market. Further, it transforms the
Intranet from its current status as a static, centrally managed repository into
a vibrant decentralized shared space.
Sincerely,
John Robb
