Hi All,
I’m from Sri Lanka and doing my MSc in Information Management. Knowledge
Management, a subject I follow, is new to us.
I have to submit a report on “participating and sharing knowledge on a topic
related to Knowledge Management with outside world” as an assignment.
In order to write the report, we have to join a Knowledge Management forum and
contribute and share the knowledge on a specific topic.
The topic that I would like to discuss with you is as follows. I greatly
appreciate if your valuable ideas are contributed for this.
Tacit knowledge is the knowledge we acquire through our experience. It is highly
personal, not easily visible or expressible, and usually requires joint, shared
activities in order to transmit it.
What is the importance of tacit knowledge to a company?
What are the different methods available in acquisition, organization,
distribution and application of tacit knowledge within an organization?
