Kosma,
In 1970 I paid a little over 200 USD for a T2 with the f1.8 kit lens from
either Cambridge Camera or 47th St Photo. A year later I bought a body only for
about 150 USD from Bailey's Crossroads Photo in northern Virginia. That was
more than the monthly rent on my apartment (120 USD), so they were not cheap. A
comparably equipped Nikon was around 300 USD from the New York dealers. The
500mm Vivitar preset was 78 USD (and the 92mm skylight filter was 97 USD - the
main reason I didn't buy it - cheaper to buy another lens).
