If you are in the market for a state-of-the-art Epson printer, here is a great
deal.
I just received an email from Atlex announcing a $250 instant rebate on their
already low price for the Epson Pro 4900: $1749. With the $500 Epson rebate,
that makes the final price $1249.
Go to http://www.atlex.com for details. Act fast if you want one; I am guessing
they will sell out quickly.
The 4900 is the most recent model in the 4000 series, using the new HDR Epson
pigment inks featuring increased color-gamut, anti-clog technology, etc. It
takes 200-ml cartridges, so is perfect for high-volume printing.
Atlex sells ink cartridges at the best price available, I think, which is
$87/200-ml cartridge. I believe the printer comes with 10 80-ml cartridges
(according to B&H), which means it comes with $348 worth of ink. So you are
paying $902 for the printer.
I thought about buying one, but it is really more than I need and can use
properly. I would prefer the 3900, but they don't make - yet.
It is very interesting that they give you 80-ml cartridges of the HDR ink with
the 4900, which is the same size as the 3880. So maybe they are on the verge of
bringing out a 3900.
Here's hoping...
Cheers,
Ken
