join our Database Services Team:
Kaiser Permanente Information Technology (KP-IT) is seeking an established
database management professional with a strong understanding, and significant
experience in large scale, and highly complex data warehousing and transactional
data processing environments. A team player who will contribute to highly
visible projects such as Health Plan, Health Care, HRIS, Finance, IT
Infrastructure, Sarbanes-Oxley(SOX) initiatives, PCI compliance and HIPAA.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Act as a database planner across four database groups. Work with the entire
database organization of 70 DBAs to deliver comprehensive database solutions
supporting business functions, OLTP systems, Information Integration, Enterprise
Data Warehouse, Data Marts and other enterprise data stores.
* Produce and maintain the database system architecture blueprint composed of
user interface, web server, application layer, database server, connection
layer, and operating systems; as appropriate for OLTP and decision support
environments.
* Participate with the database managers and team leads to develop strategic
directions for DBMS infrastructure/architecture design and solutions, including
DBMS platform, DBA productivity tools, DBMS utilities, database monitoring,
database connectivity, and DBMS access tools.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
* 10+ years of recent Database Administration experience
* 7+ years of recent Database development and production support experience in a
large (100 GB+) 24 x 7 UDB LUW environment
* Implementation experience with UDB LUW, DPF
* Replication setup experience utilizing various technologies based on user
requirements
Required skills:
* UDB LUW, DPF, UDB V5/6/7/8/9 database administration.
