Hello everyone,
b9 of LabHand is now available. It took me longer to get out than I had
originally anticipated, so I apologies for cutting it fine (b8 will expire
at the end of the week).

As I've said before, I'm working on a complete rewrite of LabHand. The
current version is very hard to maintain and find/fix bugs in, so I'm trying
to re-write a much cleaner version. It's taking me much longer than I'd
hoped, which is why b9 came out late, and why it only has one bug fix in it.
I *think* I've fixed the constant accessing of the hard drive. I've
personally never been able to reproduce this bug, but a couple of people
have told me about it, so I know it exists. As I can't reproduce it, I can't
tell if this version fixes the problem, so if anyone was experiencing the
bug, please test this new version, and let me know if it does or doesn't
work.
As there's only one bug fix, and no change in documentation, this update is
just a patch that you apply to a b8 file. Instructions are included with the
patch.
My website:
<http://www.chac.qld.edu.au/~smacdonald/>
now no longer works. I'm trying to get my ISP to fix it, but for some reason
they won't take the time to do it. Anyway... My mac.com page still works,
and all the old stuff on the CHAC page can now be found here:
<http://mychac.net/~smacdonald/>
As always, feel free to contact me about anything. I've been having trouble
with my mail server over the last two weeks or so, so if you've sent me an
email, and didn't get a response, send it again.
In case anyone's interested, I got a new toy the other week:

Just like my TiBook, she's fast and hot.
Best regards,
Stewart
