Yall,
A new version (IX.5) of the Lamont LADCP processing software and an updated
version of the "how-to" has been uploaded to
ftp://ftp.ldeo.columbia.edu/pub/LADCP/Version_IX. Apart from some minor tweaks
and bug fixes (see HISTORY files for details), the following major improvements
have been implemented:
1) Support for 3-beam solutions has been added. This increases the amount of
data available for the inversion of LADCP data collected in beam coordinates.
Additionally, it allows processing data from instruments with a bad beam.
2) Calculation of the geomagnetic declination is now handled by an external
program, so that the processing software does not have to be updated any more
when new versions of the International Geomagnetic Reference Field (IGRF) become
available.
3) The directory structure has been flattened, i.e. the m/ and mlocal/
subdirectories have been removed, because the load* routines do not have to be
edited for each cruise any more.
Please note that there are also significant changes in the "how-to". In
particular, there are now two new appendices, one showing a real-world example
of set_cast_params.m (appendix A) and another one with instructions on how to
report bugs (appendix B).
As always, any feedback is appreciated.
