Greetings All,
I'm not sure how many out there are still processing their ladcp data
with vIX_2. Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to make the leap to
v10 yet. This question pertains to processing in vIX_2 (and possibly
v10 - I'm not sure).
When including gps, ctd, and sadcp data in my processing, I'm getting
nice profiles in general. A problem occurs however between the
surface and the first good sadcp data point. Ladcp data shallower
than the first good sadcp data point seem to trend back towards zero.
I've attached some picture in the photos section of the group. If
you are logged in you can see them here:
http://tech.ph.groups.yahoo.com/group/ladcp/photos/browse/fb73
I've drawn a yellow circle around an example in the pictures...
Anyway, if I remove the sadcp data the problem goes away, but I think
we've all come to the conclusion (at least I have) that sadcp data is
critical to preventing low-biased ladcp profiles. I've tried
manipulating various parameters, but haven't come up with a solution,
short of editing my sadcp data and adding phony data between the
surface and first good point.
Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Ryan Smith
