Hi Joe I would do more testing... Find a day before sunset when you look at the sun and it is dim. Then look at Jupiter or the Moon and see if it looks dim...

Hi Joe ... You can see the Moon without a scope and have seen Jupiter with binos. I think the Moon would be the best bet. It looks like a nice night to view....

That I couldn't say for sure,, but even if the sun was bright,, it's still never as bright as when it's high,, the amount of dimming is still HUGE even if...

The 2 most important things to know to try to answer this are: what is the limiting magnitude of your scope and what altitude are you last seeing the object...
