This group is for the use of the members of the Lake County Astronomical Society (LCAS).

The LCAS serves amateur astronomers in Lake County, Illinois. Lake County is located in the northeast corner of Illinois and is north of Chicago. If you're a member, please join us in the group.

We hold public meetings at the Volo Bog Visitor Center, Ingleside, IL, on the third Friday of each month (except August and December). Visitors are welcome to join us at our meetings. If the skies and temperature cooperate, all are invited to enjoy views of the heavens through member telescopes. Visitors who wish to attend only the sky viewing should plan on arriving around 9:30pm.
