There’s no doubt that telephone calls are getting cheaper, but every month my phone bill seems to get higher. I suppose it’s because I’m talking more than ever, lulled by the low rates. Recently, I’ve been experimenting with a new technology, Internet telephony, which promises to eliminate long-distance charges by routing calls over the Net. While the quality of the calls has varied, the price is certainly right.
