With Christmas little more than six weeks away, many of us have started our holiday shopping already. As many of you know, I’m a big fan of online shopping—it’s a wonderful way to avoid the crowds and get some good deals. Not too long ago, when e-tailers were sprouting like mushrooms in a damp forest, many sites lured customers with deep discounts and free shipping. Now that the Internet bubble has deflated, finding these values is more difficult. With a little patience, however, you can still turn them up.
For instance, I just ordered a fancy cookbook from B&N.com that retails for $50 and paid $30. How did I get a 40% discount? B&N.com discounts the book by 20% and then I used a $10 off coupon code that I found on a site called BigBigSavings.com [
http://www.bigbigsavings.com/]. The site lists dozens of merchants that offer various similar discounts. Another site worth checking out for special promotions and rebate offers is DailyeDeals [http://www.dailyedeals.com/]. You can search by merchant or product categories, such as books or travel. If you can’t find a deal today, sign up for one of the free newsletters that alerts you to new offers. So get a head start on the holiday and save yourself time and money. Happy Hunting.
