Welcome to Learn the Net News.

With less than a month to go before Christmas, holiday shopping is moving into full swing. Not only is shopping on the Net convenient, but it can save you time and money. This week, we present a consumer’s guide to buying online. Before you set out on a spree, point your browser to http://www.learnthenet.com/english/html/91shptip.htm for our top ten tips.

For some wonderful values for family, friends and yourself, visit our Marketplace at: http://featured.nexchange.net/content/marketplace/giftguide_home.asp?HID=37746 . Many of the merchants offer a best price guarantee and some ship for free until Christmas.

Until recently, most computers looked the same—dull, putty-colored boxes. Apple proved that looks matters and has sold millions of iMacs based on its sexy design and colors. PC manufacturers have taken the message to heart. Find out about the latest looks for style-conscious surfers visit http://www.learnthenet.com/english/features/larry.htm

For a bit of relaxation, try online gaming, an exciting way to test your skills against opponents around the world. This week’s Web Tour features some sensational sites at http://www.learnthenet.com/english/features/tour.htm

Visitors to Learn the Net will notice some changes we made recently. We’ve given the site a subtle redesign to make it friendlier. The pages should load faster and be easier to read. We think you will also find it easier to locate the information you’re looking for. Another thing we’ve fixed is bookmarking. The way the old site was built, it was difficult to bookmark specific articles. That shouldn’t be a problem now.

While we’ve tried to find and repair all the bugs in the new site, inevitably, we have probably overlooked a few. As you go through the site, please let us know if you encounter any problems so we can quickly fix them. I’d also enjoy hearing your thoughts on the redesign. Your thoughtful comments have helped us improve the site over the years, so keep those ideas coming.
