ATTN: Lex users and Librarians
SUBJECT: Label printing
A. Label Printing setup
This information supersedes the material in the old archive at:
http://www.lex.sk.ca/LEXLIST.html#pll
In Lexwin search for the title, and highlight items for label
printing in the LIST. Then select FILE-PRINT-LABEL. You can
click "selected labels", "single record", or "records from ___".
Click on "change printer" so that you can make sure the correct
printer is selected. If the correct printer is not available, then
you have not installed it within Windows. Click on START-SETTINGS-
PRINTERS to install, or see your system administrator. You may not
have network priviledges to install hardware.
Click on "change label" to select either "sheet" (laser/injet),
or "pin fed" (dot matrix). Likely you will want laser/inkjet labels.
From that screen you will select either "card and spine labels" (7
books per page) or "all spine labels" (21 books per page).
Keep printing labels until you have enough for a "full sheet" and
the printer should activate and print your lablels.
On completion of record editing (in the edit/append screen), you can
click on the SAVE/PRINT button on the screen top, and follow the
above instructions.
For printing dot matrix labels go to this site in our old archives:

B. Label Sources
Avery labels
1-1/2" x 2-13/16", White, Permanent, 21 labels per sheet
Avery has a photocopier label, which at one time I was told would be
fine for a laser printer. I have used them successfully in such a
manner. Presently Avery staff are not recommending them for Ink Jet
use.
