SUBJECT: Removing patrons with existing transactions.

LEXIFILE and LexWin

Patrons who have items out on loan cannot be removed. You have to go
to CIRC, with your cursor in the patron area strike F7 then call the
patron record by name or barcode.

Then highlight any overdue item and click it, and select "mark item as
missing". In a similar manner you have to pay all fines, or forgive
them. Click on a fine, and strike ENTER and follow the help
information. If you want a record of the forgiven information, print
out the patron record screen before marking itmes missing or forgiving
fines.

With all items in or marked missing, and with all fines paid, a patron
record can be removed. To remove one record, click on F5-REMOVE and
enter in the barcode

If you are removing a SET of records, go to the search prompt, and
enter P to get the patron file. Search for the record set. Click on
EDIT-SELECT ALL, followed by TOOLS-REMOVE.

Finally pack your database to eliminate unwanted matierial.
