MARC stands for Machine Readable Cataloguing, and is close to being a
universal standard for libraries exchanging cataloguing records. Lex
Systms in it's formative years relied farily heavily on OCLC Marc
standards.

For that reason, this OCLC site is useful for those who want to
understand the records they are creating with our append screen:
