Hi there,
Most of the recruitment consultants don’t have time to go through the lengthy
resume. When filling application online you need to remember that you would have
around 30 seconds to catch the interest of the consultant. By attaching a
lengthy resume with a one line covering letter might not create good impression.
If the job you are applying for can change your life for a better then covering
letter does deserve few moment of your time. If you can catch the interest of
the consultant by a good worded covering letter they would go through your CV in
detail.
It should include the position (designation) you are applying for, a reference
to how you come to know about the job for example newspaper ad or a word of
mouth etc. These two are standard the important thing is to write about why you
feel you are highly suitable for this job. Few words such as excellent,
experienced, fast, skilled etc not only make a good impression but also make it
wonder for the consultant to look at your CV. Lastly it should be brief and to
the point.
