SEMINAR ON MR. F.R. SARKER'S ZERO GRAVITY EXPERIENCE

A Seminar on Zero Gravity Flight Experience by Mr. F. R. Sarker, General Secretary of Bangladesh Astronomical Society and the First Bangladeshi to participate in Zero Gravity Flight will be held on June 11, 2008, at 5 pm in FREPD auditorium, Nilkhet (Polashi Circle), Dhaka which is jointly organized by Bangladesh Astronomical Society and Bangladesh Open Source Network. Among those who will be present in this meeting are Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Professor of Computer Science Department, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Dr. A.R. Khan, President of Bangladesh Astronomical Society, Dr. Ali Asgar, former Head of the Physics Department, BUET, Dr. K. M. Sirajul Islam, former Director of National Science Museum, Dr. A. K. M. Aminul Haque, former Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh Agriculture University, Dr. Mobarok Ali Akand, former Chairman of Comilla Education Board, Mr. Munir Hasan, General Secretary of Society for Popularization Science in Bangladesh etc. Mr. Sarker participated in a Zero Gravity Flight on 24 May, 2008 on board a Boeing 727 plane operated by Zero Gravity Corporation from Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. This plane had about 15 parabolic flights and the passengers inside this plane felt weightlessness or Zero Gravity in each dive for 20-25 seconds. Eminent Astrophysicist Dr. Stephen Hawking did the same flight on 26 April, 2007.

In this meeting he will describe his experience and will offer a Power Point and a Video presentation regarding his Zero Gravity Flight.
