San Francisco-based intermedia performance group DOUBLE VISION travels
to Boulder September 22 on its five-week, cross-country tour. The
company's performance at the Old Main Chapel Theatre features live
video, contemporary dance, and electronic music.
Presented by Colorado University, DOUBLE VISION will perform its
interactive dance and technology works Three Canons and Mise en Scenes
and Thicket, the company's newest piece. The performance will include
Big Timber, CHOP! CHOP!, integrating live sound and video with real
time animation and to tell the tale of two characters, Conuton Valve
and Coon Dog, who meet at The Monopole Bar in Plattsburgh, New York
and later find themselves travelling in a Mercury Sable to California
in the quest for gold and the Plasma Cloud.
DOUBLE VISION's 4x60 Tour involves 10 performers, 4,800 miles and 5
weeks of experimental and contemporary events that blend dance, video,
sound, and installation. Celebrating five years of existence in
December, the company has performed in Bay Area venues such as the San
Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, and
ODC Theater as well as alternative spaces including public parks and
warehouses.
