My setup to the pins is just LPC_IOCON->PIO0_4 = 0x01U; /* P0.4 = SCL */ LPC_IOCON->PIO0_5 = 0x01U; /* P0.5 = SDA */ Is there anything else to do? ... [1]

... Ok, normally I2C problems are related at wrong main oscillator setup and i/o setup. Please check to have set properly the pin functions.

look at the code that came with the lpcxpresso board, it worked for me #define I2CONSET_I2EN (0x1<<6) /* I2C Control Set Register */ #define I2CONSET_AA
