Well, not to beat a dead horse, but...
I checked the tracking again...it DOES cut out sometimes after using the cursor
keys. But if you back out first using mode (as you said), it works.

Outdoors, pressing "0" at the prompt after Autostar boots to do the initial
align using the gps, it always works ok.

So it doesn't seem to have that problem...although the tracking is not great, so
maybe it has that timing error you mentioned.
