The deadline for registration to the online data-mining course jointly
offered by IDSIA (http://www.idsia.ch) and SUPSI (http://www.supsi.ch) is
approaching.
Course Contents
---------------
The course is intended for beginners. It will introduce data mining
techniques with special focus on pattern classification. The lectures will
emphasize the practice of data mining by a step-by-step introduction to the
Weka system (http://www.cs.waikato.ac.nz/ml/weka/).
Structure
---------
The course will be organized in 8 weekly modules, given online through a
web site. Each unit will include theory, practice, online discussion with
teachers and other students, and a number of exercises to be done
individually and in groups.
The course will be accessible in an asynchronous way, i.e. in the hours
that best suit the participants' availability.
Important Dates
---------------
Deadline for early registration: March, 15, 2002.
Deadline for late registration: March, 31, 2002.
Course starts on Monday, April 15, 2002.
