We have started experiencing problems with what I think is a blob
field in our clinical notes module. We have defined a table with a
blob field to pull in the results of a 3rd party product that created
an RTF file. It has worked great for awhile, we are starting to see
random disconnects when the user is trying to save this note. The
Magic session just goes away. Unfortunately, the note that they were
working on is gone if they hadn't saved it.
This is in V9.4 SP4 Pervasive 8.
The table has about 450,000 records with a field size of 977MB. They
probably have around 50 user as one time hitting that table with about
125 - 140 users active.
We trap any error message and save it to a file, unfortunately there
are no errors written at that time.
Has anyone had this experience?
We are considering to re-write this and go back to the memo field.
Primarily because of the disconnect problems and that the 3rd party
product doesn't do everything that we have done for them. (Doesn't
that sound familiar?)
