Dear list,
A lot of research and some demos convinced me that the first generation of
mobiles with integrated GPS are quite inconvenient for pedestrians with low
vision. The most significant drawbacks which I found are:
- Performance issues cause directions to be too late;
- Mobile must be opened/unfolded to receive enough signal for navigation
support;
- Hardware is not yet equipped with ICs for fine-grained positioning
(gyroscopes/accellerometers).
However, reviews clearly indicate that the next generation won't suffer from
those drawbacks. Found an article about the Nokia 6210, which is
specifically designed for pedestrians and it's available in Q3 of this year

].
So I think about waiting for that new phone and install Code Factory's
Mobile Magnifier on it [http://www.codefactory.es/en/products.asp?id=113].
What do you think?
Regards,
Bas
