Happy new year everyone
There has been talk every now and then
about the lack of traffic on this listserver, whether it is worth continuing
with it etc…
I am not the moderator and plan to keep on
subscribing. But I think there is an audience out there interested in mammals
worldwide so I have just begun a mammal watching blog to accompany my
mammalwatching.com website. I hope this might (slowly) become a platform
for the world’s mammal watchers to share snippets of information,
requests for information, trip reports and so on. I’ll also use it to
announce updates to my site.
The blog is at www.mammalwatching.wordpress.com
If you would like to become a contributor
to the blog just drop me an email and I will set you up as an author (it is a
much easier way to share photos and videos than using a list server) and its
also an easier way to look at archived material I think.
If you visit the blog you can sign up for a
notification service that will send you an email any day new stuff is posted –
so at most you will receive one email a day though my guess is that if there is
a new message more than once a week it will be more popular than I expect.
In the meantime, I will try to new posts to
mammal-aus to the blog as well. If anyone doesn’t want me to do that for
any reason then please let me know.
Cheers
Jon
