Dear all

My group is thinking of including rat pictures in a leaflet and/or website.
Can you help please.

This is partly to head off all those requests from people who want us to
check out their "hopping mice", "tree rats" and other versions of the Black
Rat.

It's also to help them differentiate between exotic rats (especially Brown
Rats) and Rakalis aka Australian Water Rats - Hydromys chrysogaster.

We have access to lots of pics of Rakalis from our local Council. Before I
became a Councillor it commissioned an attempt to radio track them - see the
video at:
http://www.bayside.vic.gov.au/environment_rakalis.htm

There is more regional info at www.rakali.com

Anyhow we don't have good pics of Rattus rattus and Rattus norvegicus so
please let me know if you can provide any.

Many thanks

Michael Norris
