I want to create my own maps from scanned topo maps, because for very
small areas there are no vector maps available. After creating the
new map I want to import the map to/in the base map.
After two weeks reading the groups I have seen that this is only
possible with Garmin units and other programs (not supported by
Garmin). It was also possible with Lowrance and the version 4 of
their mapping program.
Conclusion: Seems I have to buy a Garmin unit because custom maps are
not possible with Magellan... sniff...because the Magellan has some
nice features like the changeable memory cards.
