I have an opinion piece appearing on www.spacedaily.com at
http://www.spacedaily.com/news/oped-03zzi.html
To sum up the idea: Space habitats are the ultimate off the grid homes. Our
dependence upon centralized systems for such things as power, water, fuel, and
waste treatment leaves us vulnerable to a number of threats man-made or natural.
Therefore, space habitation is valuable as a method to develop these
technologies that can provide for greater security.
I would be curious what the members of this group think.
I have John McKnight to thank for helping me turn a very long piece of writing
into something far more succinct - though you may not think so!
I told Simon at spacedaily that I live near Philadelphia, but for some reason he
locates me in LA.
