know your chapter mates.

2008.

Please join us to elect the new board and to get involved in chapter
work right away!
We have many committees and programs looking for support including:
Events Committee: This year get involved and help plan the National AWIS events
at this years AAAS meeting in Boston. Host and meet AWIS scientists from around
the country.
Leadership Workshop Committee: Our ever-popular series of training events for
the skills you don’t always learn in the lab (communication, networking,
mentoring, time management, etc. etc.); come and give your input for what we
need to do next.
Fundraising Committee: We’d like to be growing our bank account and
providing more and more services for our members. This is a great skill to
develop…what a great way to practice networking!
Mentoring Initiative: There is increasing interest in starting/expanding an AWIS
mentoring program..is this something of interest to you..join us to discuss and
plan.
Wage Equity Project: Trish Lohmar is heading up this team working with Evelyn
Murphy to develop a Wage Equity workshop for scientists!
