Saturday, March 8th Girls Get Connected Conference 2008
We need professional women who have careers in science or technology to join us for the annual Girls Get Connected Technology Conference to share your excitement and passion for your profession
Join us for an afternoon session in which you will talk to several small groups of middle school girls. The session, which will run from 12:45 pm to 1:45 pm, will work a little like speed dating and a little like a scavenger hunt.
· You will begin the session with a description of your career. If you have any props, please bring them – the more visuals girls see, the greater their learning.
· After a five to seven minute description of your job, the girls will ask you a set of prescribed questions. (We will send you these questions ahead of time). Examples include: How did you get interested in this career? How long did you go to school?
· A chime will sound and the girls will rotate to another professional.
· You will see three groups of girls during the hour long session.
At the end of the session, the girls will participate in Teach Back and share some of the things they have learned.
We ask that you join us at 11:30 for a brief orientation and lunch. Parking at Simmons is provided.
Please contact Deborah Muscella if you are interested in participating in this exciting venture
