Description:
When it comes to negotiating for higher pay, women have a dilemma: negotiating for higher compensation is likely to pay off financially, but it's socially risky. Studies have shown that it is sensible for women to be more reticent about negotiating for higher pay than men, because they pay a higher social cost for doing so. Hannah Riley Bowles will present her current research on negotiation and gender, and identify strategies that women can use to overcome this compensation negotiation dilemma.
