This workshop will be lead by Winston Jenkins from Mannersmith Etiquette Consulting. Mannersmith, founded in 1996, creates and delivers seminars to clients ranging from children to CEOs. Each program is a combination of lecture, activities and exercises that are designed to ensure that learning about manners is both educational and entertaining. Dr. Epstein will discuss what happens to promising drug compounds during late pre-clinical trials through approval by the FDA. She will discuss where major expenses are incurred, and what can be done to reduce these costs, including the use of information technology tools. She will address the impact of the human factor on drug development, how to help people think differently about the drug development process, and conflicts between company, VC and personal career goals.
In addition to her roles at MediVector, Dr. Epstein is President of Biologics Services, Inc. She was recently the acting Chief Medical Officer for IRX Therapeutics in addition to her other current roles. Prior to that she held the positions of VP and Chief Medical Officer at ImmunoGen, Inc. and Immunex
Research and Development Corporation, and several positions at Ayerst Laboratories. She graduated from MIT in 1972 with a BS, and received her medical degree from
