PANEL DISCUSSION ON CAREER CHOICES and MASS AWIS NETWORKING EVENT

Whether you are looking for a job, thinking about a career change or willing to come and talk to students and scientists who are looking...this is the event for you! Please join us to share your experiences especially if you have chosen an "unusual" path. AWIS is all about supporting the women scientists of the future. Please spread the word...many young students would benefit from this program so let's make sure they hear about it.

DIRECTIONS:
99 Brookine Avenue is diagonal from Fenway Park, on the other side of Brookline Avenue. There is a parking lot right next to the building which will cost ~$10. There is plenty of strreet parking around the building and on Brookline Avenue. There are several private, parking lots off of Brookline Avenue including the Landmark Center about 2 blocks away.
There are two T-stops-one at Fenway and one at Kenmore Square. If you get off at Kenmore Square, just follow the signs to Fenway Park (Take a left when exiting the T-station; head towards McDonald/Bank of America/Pizzeria Uno which is where Bookline Avenue starts. Walk up the hill and you will see Fenway Park on the left; pass it and cross the street. 99 Brookline Avenue/BIDMC building is right there next to the parking lot. Pass the building and take a right on the next street (Overland Street) and the entrance to the builidng is on your right.). From the Fenway T-stop, you will be getting off behind the Landmark Building. Walk to the front of the building, passing Bed, Bath and Beyond, Staples and REI on your left. At the corner of the building next to Best Buys, take a left. Walk about two blocks and cross two streets. You will take a left on Overland street (mailbox on the corner in front of an empty restaurant). Entrance and building is on !
the right side of the street.

CHAPTER ELECTIONS:
It is time for our chapter to have its first elections! Our bylaws suggest the following open positions:
Chapter president (or 2 co-presidents), Vice-President, Treasurer and Administrator.
If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else, reply to this email or call Joanne Kamens (508-849-2655). We have candidates for President, Treasurer and Administrator...so think about running in opposition (the sign of a healthy chapter!) or volunteering to run for VP. Whether you are already involved or would like to get involved, please consider running for an office. If we don't formalize some leadership roles in the chapter, we won't succeed in the establishment of the chapter.
