The Kick-Off Conference for the Massachusetts Girls Collaborative
(MAGiC) Project will be held at Raytheon Company in Tewksbury, MA on
September 24, 2005.
The goal of the conference is to bring together K-12 educators, post
secondary educators, business outreach representatives, program
coordinators, and technical professionals interested in promoting
exploration and learning for girls in Science, Technology,
Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) to share ideas, to learn from
best practices, and to provide networking opportunities for the
development of STEM programs.
The conference agenda includes a Keynote address on the "Inclusive
Classroom" by Rachelle Reisberg, Director, Women in Engineering,
Northeastern University. The conference also features a Panel
discussion with women in technical careers facilitated by Adrienne
Wootters from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. Additional
conference activities include presentations by girls! -serving STEM
programs, exhibition time with STEM program representatives, and
roundtable discussions between attendees.
