Volunteer to be a science mentor for middle school girls!!!   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #65 of 209 |

Our AWIS chapter will be helping to run a SCIENCE CLUB FOR GIRLS at the King school in Cambridge this year.  Adult volunteers (US!!) will work with high school girls to lead the 6-7 graders in some fun, planned science experiments in two 8 week sessions.  All materials and information will be provided, no experience necessary!  It is so important for these girls to see YOU women scientists as role models.  This is sure to be a very fun, rewarding experience so contact us now to participate.

AWIS Elections are Coming UP

Our chapter will be holding elections for the 2006-2007 board in early January.  There will be some open board positions and we would be thrilled to have some of the seats be actually contested elections (signs of a strong growing chapter!!).  No experience necessary--it is a great way to get involved or become more involved!  Contact Joanne with questions or if you are interested in running for an office (joanne.niewood@...)
