ANNUALCHAPTER ELECTION WILL BE JANUARY
10th, 2007, 7-9PM
In order to prepare the slate of candidates we need you to nominate yourself
or your colleagues by the end of November! Please forward a brief
bio and a candidate's statement to be posted on our website before the
event. Suggest you include your past activities with AWIS or like
organizations (in our chapter or other chapters) as part of your statement.

Board positions are President, Vice-President (2 slots usually), Administrator
and Treasurer. We are hoping to have a contested election this year
as that is a sign of a successful chapter! We also have committees
forming if you are interested in a committee chairmanship.
MASS AWIS Members only are invited to our
annual Election Event (join now!). Join us for a fun evening of Sushi and
(S)Elections of our new chapter officers. We will provide other food options
for those who are not sushi fans! This is event is free, but only open
to those who have joined the chapter. Come to meet other members and the
new and old AWIS boards.

MASS AWIS Leadership Workshop II--OVER

The second workshop is "Oral Communication Skills--Good Presentation
as a Key to Advancement!"
Wednesday, November 29, 6-8pm
Broad Institute (same location as the first workshop although the room
may change depending on numbers registered).
We welcome our two prestigious speakers!
Dr. Robert Weinberg, a founding member of the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical
Research and MIT professor of biology affiliated with the Center for Cancer
Research. He has had many major achievements and awards. Dr.
Weinbergs key work led to identification and characterization of
both the first oncogene and first tumor suppressor gene. He is a
member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, recipient of the National
Medal of Science, the Wolf Prize in Medicine and recently the Kirk A. Landon-AACR
Prize for Basic Cancer Research.
Elaine Crowley, co-owner of the coaching and consulting firm The Crowley
Group (thecrowleygroup.com). She helps people succeed in their careers!
