I'd tell you NOT to go by lead author. What I mean is, don't pick a
book based on the reputation of the author. I've had experience with
a guy (I won't say the name) writing a couple good books and some real
bad ones.
Each "big" book company will have several different books for any
subject. Call H-M, and McD-L, tell them who you are and ask them to
send you copies of their Precalc books, and pick whatever you think
will work best with YOUR kids.
